EMAIL ADDRESS: events@phibetasigma1914.org

Joyce E. DePass is an executive level leader with more than twenty years of experience creating environments for learning, networking, and professional development. Through the application of innovative and tactical solutions to experience design and engagement, Joyce works to drive revenue, brand awareness, and stakeholder relationships that drive business goals.

With a demonstrated track record of managing multi-million dollar projects, Joyce improves the efficiency and productivity in small and large-scale meetings, trade shows, and special events. Her unique background in project management, fundraising, leadership, and production has enabled her to manage and inspire teams to produce high-impact results in today’s competitive, technologically-driven events.

In her most recent position as the Director of Meetings and Special Programs for the American Society of Landscape Architects, Joyce consistently exceeded the $4.5 million annual conference revenue goal, comprising over 37 percent of the Society’s annual revenues. In addition to the 7000 attendee/450 exhibitor conference, she led the planning and execution of 40 internal and external events and oversight of the ASLA Center for Landscape Architecture conference facilities. A veteran of the meetings, events, and tradeshow industry, Joyce has held similar director level positions with The Urban Land Institute, the American Association for Higher Education, the American Association of University Women, the National Black Child Development Institute, and the March of Dimes.

With a passion for engagement and community service, a knack for details, and fierce negotiation skills, Joyce spent the early years of her career in fundraising, sponsorship development, and training. Today she continues to cultivate dynamic relationships with C-suite leaders and stakeholders to develop content, implement programming, fund projects, and manage vendors and staff. Throughout her career, she has orchestrated, produced, and promoted countless meeting and event experiences, including live events, educational conferences, VIP retreats, award ceremonies, high-end dinners, sporting events, telethons, and more.

Joyce moved to Washington, DC from her childhood home in Long Island, New York. She cherishes her time near the water and her fond memories of summers at Glen Cove’s Morgan Park. A strong believer in bucket lists, she recently embarked on a journey to earn her pilot license and has one flight down toward fulfilling her life-long dream. Joyce looks forward to combining her love for travel, sustainability, and the wild to check off other bucket list items. Next up, a hot air balloon ride at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival and an adventurous safari where she can experience her beloved wildcats and the rest of Africa’s Big Five in their natural habitats. With her extensive experience in large conference planning, fundraising, large conference productions and her passion for delivering an excellent experience for all attendees, we’re excited to have Joyce join our Team!
